The Logic is a Canadian subscription news outlet focused on the innovation economy and its impacts across business, policy, culture, and more. Starting from the ground up, CEO and editor-in-chief, David Skok, engaged StudioRd Design as a partner in 2018 to help establish both the company’s logo and identity as well as to assist in designing and developing the website and customer experience.
We partnered closely with The Logic’s team of initial stakeholders in order to understand - and assist in defining - the organization’s mission and character. It was important from the outset to create a brand that communicated not only the differentiating niche of content The Logic focuses on, but the integrity of their reporting. Combining a fresh color system with more traditional typeface families helped to position The Logic as a strong new contender right out of the gate.
